OVERVIEW

With the Canadian border so close to anyone living in the northern states, many of us can readily expand our showing opportunities – and earn Canadian performance awards – by showing in Canada as well as the US.

Showing is addictive.  I got hooked on showing in Canada with my first show dog, who came from a breeder near Vancouver, BC. I hadn’t intended at the time to get a show dog, but fell in love with the fluff ball the groomer wanted a show home for and decided we could do that. Now I attend as many shows each year in Canada as I do in the US. Shows in the two countries are very similar, but there are some key differences. Some, like the points and awards system, can be confusing, but only because they aren’t that different from the US system.
